The Andromeda galaxy M31 in the constellation andromeda. It is our neighbour galaxy in a mere 2.5 million lyghtyears distance. Its
diameter is roughly 140000 Lyrs. Due to its brightness, M31 can easily be seen with naked eye under average country skies. This galaxy
- also a memeber of our local group - moves towards our home galaxy, the milky way, with appx. 110km/sec.
