Derotation The following image shall demonstrate, how derotation in WinJupos gives the possibility to enhance the captured details significantly: Consecutive video sequences over a longer time period can be processed separately and then be rotated to the center video of the series. This significantly improves the SNR and gives the opportunity to separate small structures better from the noise floor.

The 2023 Mars opposition The 2023 Mars opposition in the beginning of the year showed really bad weather and imperfect seeing conditions. Despite the bad weather conditions, some quite good results could be achieved by using massive amount of frames and low selection rate and working with our big 6“ apochromatic refractor, which is less affected by bad seeing conditions than our Maksutov Newtonian.
