Messier 15 is a globular cluster with an enormous star density in its core, that might result from a black hole. The cluster’s distance is roughly 30600lyrs. The object was discovered by Jean-Dominique Maraldi in 1746 and a few years later added to Messier’s catalogue. The planetary nebula Pease 1 - the first planetary ever discovered within a globular star cluster - can not be seen in this image.
